40k Black Templars: Sword Brethren

If you want to expand your Black Templars army with a distinctive elite unit, the Sword Brethren are a great kit for Warhammer 40.000. Five miniatures, individual equipment, multiple weapon options and 32 mm round bases give you a flexible foundation for gaming and the hobby. The unit immediately evokes the Black Templars and is just right if you’re looking for a powerful melee force that doesn’t look generic. This set is also a pleasure to paint, with its crisp details.

For many Black Templars Players, an army only feels truly complete when its elite units look the part too. The Sword Brethren bring exactly that presence and fit well into a crusade project or an existing force. Instead of simply buying more models, you’re adding a unit with a clear role on the battlefield. This makes the kit especially appealing if you want not only to expand your army, but to upgrade it with purpose.

The five Sword Brethren miniatures offer several assembly options, so the unit doesn’t look like it came straight from a standard catalog. This is especially appealing for Black Templars, since the faction thrives on distinctive models with a personalized look. If you enjoy experimenting with equipment and poses, this set makes assembly more fun than a basic starter product. It’s also a great choice for Collectors, as the unit is immediately recognizable as a Black Templars element in a display cabinet.

In the game, the Sword Brethren are especially appealing when you’re looking for a melee unit with a strong visual and thematic presence. They complement a Black Templars army well if you don’t want to rely solely on basic infantry. For Players who deliberately build their list around character and striking power, the set is a natural addition. It’s not a general TCG or beginner product, but a clear building block for a faction with its own style.

Collectors often pay attention to the overall look of a Black Templars army, and that’s exactly where the Sword Brethren come in. The unit combines the characteristic crusading aesthetic, close-combat style, and flexible customization. If you’re building your Collection by faction, this kit fits nicely between larger character models and standard troops. It’s compact enough for a focused purchase, but much more distinctive than many generic units.

If you’re deciding between a basic squad, a character model, or a larger starter box, the Sword Brethren offer a good middle ground. You get several models with clear roles without having to buy a large army all at once. This is useful if you want to expand your Black Templars collection in a focused way and value quality over quantity. For Players and model builders looking for a unit with a distinct presence, that’s a strong selling point.

The Sword Brethren are a good choice if you want to build your Black Templars project step by step. The box doesn't feel overwhelming, but it offers enough to add a proper unit to your army. If you enjoy painting new models, you'll find a satisfying mix of detail and manageable scope here. This set also makes a great gift for Warhammer 40.000 fans interested in the Black Templars, since its value is immediately clear.

This set is especially useful if you’re looking for a Black Templars unit that looks just as impressive on the table as it does in your Collection. You can use the Sword Brethren as part of an army build or tackle them as a standalone hobby project. It’s just as appealing to Players looking to strengthen their melee line as it is to Collectors interested in iconic faction models. This versatility is what makes the kit so appealing to many buyers.
