Only Japanese cards are usually not allowed in international tournaments unless you use them together with an official translation. However, for casual play, collecting, or trading, you can use all language versions without any problems.

Are there quality differences between German and English Pokémon cards?

How can I tell which set or edition my Pokémon cards come from?
