40k Black Templars: Combat Patrol

If you want to build a Black Templars army from the ground up, the Combat Patrol is a very practical starting point for Warhammer 40.000. You get a mix of a Primaris Marshal, Sword Brethren, Initiates, Neophyte, and an Impulsor - exactly the kind of box that lets you get a faction project off to a solid start. The lineup feels deliberate, like a small army with a clear plan. For Players and hobbyists, this is often more appealing than buying individual units separately.

The box is especially useful if you don't want to spend a long time searching for individual units and would rather have a balanced foundation right away. It's particularly convenient for getting started with Warhammer 40.000, as you get several types of units and a vehicle in one package. Even if you already own a few Black Templars models, the Combat Patrol can be a sensible next step. It saves you planning time and immediately gives your army more substance.

Includes a Primaris Marshal, five Primaris Sword Brethren, ten Initiates with a Neophyte, and an Impulsor. This mix is appealing to Players because it covers different roles within an army rather than containing multiple copies of a single unit. This offers more variety when assembling and painting. Since the miniatures are unpainted and require assembly, the box is clearly aimed at hobbyists who want to do the work themselves.

If you want to get started with Black Templars, this gives you a clear foundation instead of an overwhelming collection of individual purchases. The Combat Patrol helps you not only start an army, but also think in terms of different building blocks right away. This is especially useful if you value structure when building your army. Instead of having to look for lots of small additions later, you already have a cohesive core ready to go.

Collectors also like to pick up Combat Patrol boxes when they want to build a complete faction. The combination of a leader, elite units, a squad, and a vehicle creates a complete army feel and makes the box an appealing collectible. This is especially attractive to Black Templars fans, as the faction’s character is clearly reflected in the selection. Those who enjoy buying thematically will find a box with a clear focus here.

Compared to individual kits, the Combat Patrol gives you more structure and less decision-making stress. You don’t have to think about which unit goes with the next; you get a coordinated selection right away. Individual boxes are more flexible if you only need a specific unit. The Combat Patrol, on the other hand, is the better choice if you’re looking for a complete foundation for a Black Templars army and want to keep building simple.

Anyone who enjoys working with different models will get a lot out of this box. You get infantry, an elite unit, and a vehicle in one set, making it more varied to build than buying a single squad. It’s ideal if you want to do more than just play—you can also paint and work on a cohesive army. This mix is especially useful for longer hobby projects, as it brings together several different tasks in one purchase.

The Black Templars Combat Patrol works as a starting point, an expansion, and a gift for Warhammer 40.000 fans who are interested in the faction. The contents are clear enough to understand right away, yet versatile enough for long-term use. If you’re looking for a more compact project that still has plenty to it, this box is an excellent fit. It gives you a solid starting point for a strongly themed army.
